- What we did
- Public space identity system

The brief
A cultural district identity has to avoid two failures: stereotype and blandness. It also had to meet the City of Toronto's standards for public space, read from across a busy street and last outdoors for years.
- 01
Structure over symbols
We studied how geometry, rhythm and repetition work in Persian architecture and textiles, and designed from those principles instead of copying motifs.
- 02
Constraints as the brief
Legibility at distance, outdoor materials and colour in sunlight were mapped first and shaped every choice.
- 03
Tested at full size
The system was checked across banners, signage, streetscape and digital formats before it went to the City.
